Yellow & Violetta!

Pairing unusual colours together is the thing for summer! Mix it up in a wonderful mismatch of bright & brave colour. 

This post focuses of two of my current favorite hues!

        My current yellow favorite – love it themed with bright violet jewelry! It is a vibrant summer citron shade in cashmere and is the perfect combo with a pretty dress or something more casual. It keeps me comfortable and cozy but with a elegant twist <3

Gorgeous backdrop for a Matta NY shoot I did the makeup for this week (see their website at the end of this post). I adore their breezy beach wear and bright playful colors. Matta NY sells, amongst other places, at ABC home in NYC – I love that shop and visit their restaurant in the basement at any chance I get

Pink & Gold Glow

A little pink to POP and a little gold to glow. These two hues deliver my current favorite fresh accents. This entry is dedicated to two gorgeously feminine summer hues that work so well together!

This little flower in my garden gives me so much joy each time I step outside. It is such a perfectly girly pop pink. Here it is at the break of day in the morning dew.

Pink & Gold Summer Glows

           Gold & pink themed together sings softly of summer and romance – play with these POP products to acheive  a flawlessly feminine glow.

1. Start by smoothing our treatment Beam Base Primer onto complexion for a nourishing and skintone-warming fix. Use a coin sized amount and apply like you would your regular moisturizer. Your skin will instantly look even, subtly bronzed and healthy. This first step will help hold on to the rest of your makeup, making it stay put all day. Follow with your favorite concealer to target any redness or problem areas in complexion.

2. Next, curl lashes and apply the Ink Outliner onto upper lash line. Use small, short strokes and flick the line slightly upwards and outwards (towards the edge of your eyebrow) as you get to the outer corner of the eye. Keep building until you have your desired thickness and drama.

3. Using a blending brush with medium length hair, dust Pure Pigment in Metallic Gold onto the lid and blend well. Then, using a more precise brush (shorter hairs), apply the same hue into the inner corner of the eye and onto the lower lash line. Blend until seamless/

4. Apply Peak Performance Mascara – press brush into the lash root and work upward & outward in zig-zag movements, effectively curling the lashes as you apply. Apply to upper and lower lashes, doing one layer and letting it dry a bit before applying the next. Keep building for an almost faux lash effect.

5. Lastly, smooth the BB Lip Balm in Watermelon onto lips and dab a tiny bit onto the apples of the cheeks for a subtle, cheek popping bloom!

Summer Reds

Red is a hue often associated with winter and the holiday season – however, few things look fresher than that perfect red nail teamed with a white outfit or a bright & rich red lip with a white pretty flower placed in your hair. Don‘t shy away from these perfectly fresh, ripe reds this summer!

 

Summer inspirations and lovely June hues – I adore the “One Hundred Flowers” illustration book by Georgia O’Keeffe. Gorgeous lush & blooming reds!

Pool hanging with Ripe Red Nail Glam! 

1. Our Face Magnet Primer is the perfect partner for a red lip, as it will counteract skin redness and even out the skintone. Packed with vitamins and caffeine, it gives a revitalizing and instantly lifting boost to complexion, making you look fresh & rested in an instant! Apply a dime sized amount onto moisturized skin using a sponge or clean fingertips and blend well. Follow with your favorite tinted moisturizer. 

2. Next, let’s define the eyes and brows. Spray a tiny amount of hairspray onto a brow brush and comb brows into place. Then, dip an angled brush into the hue in the Naturally Bare palette that most resembles your brow color, and carefully fill in brows until you have your desired definition. Next dip a blending brush into the deepest hue in the palette and blend carefully into the crease of the eye, right where the lid meets the brow bone. Blend until seamless. Brush a little of the lightest hue in the palette into inner corner of the eye and right under the eyebrow. 

3. Curl lashes and apply Peak Performance Mascara. Press brush into the lash root and work upward & outward in zig-zag movements, curling the lash as you apply. 

4. Lastly, making sure lips are completely dry and clean, fill them in with the Stain Stay in Poppy Red. Finish off with a touch of one of the red shades in the Rouge Mix to add a subtle dew. 

5. Don’t forget to paint your nails with our gorgeous Ripe Red Nail Glam to finish off the look!

I can’t think of a better companion to a smoky eye, or a more safe bet for the pool party, gym, wedding or any other occasion where normal mascara might smudge. Amazing for short and/or stubby lashes as it keeps that curl literally until you bring an oil-based makeup remover into the equation!

For faux lashes without the hassle: Lash Extension Mascara!
This treatment formula is packed with silky fibers that attach themselves to your lashes, adding extreme length and volume. Formula can be built onto lashes so you can customize lash thickness and length as you apply. Wear one layer for a more dressed up version of your natural lashes or keep layering formula for a full-on, almost fake flutter!
