Beam, Bronze & Balms!

Summer is about feeling bronzed, balmy and all beamed up! Here are some of my current favourites!

Body Beam Base is designed to add a balmy glow to legs, arms & décolletage. It treats dryness, minimizes
the appearance of uneven skin and adds a silky light reflecting glow. Your skin looks soft, silky and healthily
beamed up!

The sheer & lightweight formula blends like silk onto skin and adds a gorgeous
yet subtle tropical scent. So perfect for summer when you do not want to wear a
perfume but you still want to smell great!

Our current amazing bronze collection of cakes, powders, glows, bases and liners –  you’ll find a favourite here to keep your glow going way into Fall!

Choosing what BB Lip Balm to make a staple in my new favourite Kate Spade purse.

My lips are feeling SO soft since I started using these, and I love all four colors. Thankfully they will all fit ;)

Beach Brights!

As we are all (hopefully) getting a nice summer glow going & hitting the beach, what makeup makes sense? Go beach-lovely with a twist of bright!

Sheerly perfected skin, natural & waterproof eyes, plus a bright kiss of juicy colour on the lips makes summer makeup a breeze.

1. Add a warm, subtle glow to skin by applying a coin sized amount of Beam Base Primer in Balmy Bronze all over complexion, including eye lids and brow bones. This gorgeous formula includes treats & primes the skin as the pigments enhance and even out skin tone. If you are hitting the beach, make sure you mist a high SPF as a finishing touch to protect the skin further.

2. Comb through brows with the spoolie brush included in the Brow Shade & Shape kit, then fill them in using the angled brush dipped in brow powder. Use a shade in the palette that is one hue lighter then your natural hair color. To define eyes, blend a little of the second hue down onto lid & also a sheer amount of the lightest (bottom) hue just underneath the brow bone.

3. Next, fill in the upper waterline with our waterproof In Liner in black. Use small, short strokes and apply as close to the lash root as possible.

4. Curl lashes & apply our super-waterproof Lash Kapow mascara by pressing the brush into the lash root and zig-zag upward and outward to lift and coat each lash. Keep building for more intensity and volume.

5. Add the icing on the cake by picking one of the hot orange hues in the Rouge Mix and apply to lips. Also blend a small amount onto apples of the cheeks to lift and sculpt, adding a rosy glow. Ready for the beach!!

Hot in the Hamptons!

Every year the in the summer, the beautiful (and usually very quiet) southern part of Long Island is taken over by beauty, glamour, fashion and parties! Here’s a little style barometer from the hotness that currently is the Hamptons.

A little taster of all the great magazines you can pick up in the summer in the Hamptons, for any fashion/beauty/style junkie. They are a very good read indeed and give you an instant update on what is what & who is who out here.

                   Hampton’s polished perfection
The look out here is very much about naturally polished beauty, the “I just got back from the beach and I look this good naturally”. Healthy American beauty with a bronzed & glowing skin. Go a little smokier on the eyes for nighttime or simply add a brighter lip on your way to the next event.

1. As always when spending lots of time in the sun, start with a rich and nourishing moisturizer – preferably perfume free. Then, using our treatment No Show Concealer, target areas that need coverage with the stick side (usually under the eyes, around the nose and chin). Next, use the liquid side to perfect complexion and add a ultra healthy glow. This can be blended all over the face OR for a sheer & subtle glow, simply apply to top of cheekbones, bridge of the nose and onto lids, all the way up to eyebrow.

2. Next, dip a bronzer brush into the Sunkissed bronzer and buff gently into complexion, focusing on where the sun would naturally kiss your face (cheekbones, apples of the cheeks, forehead, nose, jawbone). Blend well.  Use residue on brush to dust bronzer all over the eye lid, building a little for more pigment intensity.

3. Fill in the upper waterline with our waterproof In Liner. Use small, short strokes and apply as close to the lash root as possible. Make the line a little thicker towards the outer edge of the eye and flick line slightly upward and outward, then smudge with a cotton swab. Curl lashes and follow with waterproof Lash Kapow mascara. Let each layer dry before applying the next.

4. Finish off with the Pouty Pop Crayon in Barely Bitten for that perfectly kissable natural nude lip.

3.

My favorite Hamptons hangout by far: C/o the Maidstone hotel and the living room restaurant. It’s a boutique hotel with tons of personality and charm where each room has it’s own concept and style (as this one above). The Living Room restaurant by far has the best food and most delicious cocktails out here. I adore sitting in the garden or on the porch on a late afternoon – the bar & restaurant on a weekend evening is the best people watching out here!

Last shoot I did out here – Katherine and Marco Birchs featured in Avenue magazine.

Green Touches

Green has long been one of my favorite colors (maybe because I have a touch of green in my eyes and green-toned shadows make them POP!). But green also makes me think of summer, health and how much I love green notes in perfumes and nature (think newly cut grass).

Current favorite greens, including the Pixi fig perfume with lots of green notes:

Favorite current green shadow of the moment – the green/yellow combo in the Bright Delight palette:

Current green view from my kitchen window – divine!

I am trying to do daily green refills for my body too! I love juicing anything green or making green smoothies! My current favorite is: cucumber, mint, watermelon, kale, lemon, apple & ginger J

To make it into a breakfast smoothie, I make the juice as above and then put it in the mixer with half of an avocado, some chia seeds and a touch of cardamom. Delish!!

What are your favorite green hues?

Baby & Bold Blues

It’s summer!! This season always makes me think of blue. The blue ocean, my favorite blue jeans, blue skies – so many great things are blue!
J

Bold Blue Liner

Blue is known as the most brightening hue for the eyes – it visually lightens the eye whites and “lifts” the lids. Let’s take it a step further with a bold, bright line to frame your eyes!

1. Start by blending CC Cream all over complexion. Using clean fingertips, start on the  bridge of the nose and blend downward towards cheeks. This will even out complexion and brighten it in an instant. Blend well and keep building until you have your desired coverage.

2. Grab your No Show Camouflage Fix, mixing the hues on the back of your hand until it is slightly lighter than your skintone. Dab onto the under-eye area, around the nose and chin, and anywhere else you might need some extra coverage.

3. Dampen an eyeliner brush and dip into the electric blue hue from the Bright Up Your Life palette. Then, using short strokes, create a thick & dramatic line. Keep dampening the brush to keep the pigmentation intense. Flick the line upward and outward at the outer corner of the eye, heading for the edge of your eyebrow. Keep building & perfecting until you have achieved desired dramatic results.

4. Trace the blue line you've just created with our dazzling Pure Pigment in Metallic Blue to set it and add intensity.

5. Finally, apply the No Clump Comb Mascara starting at the root of the lash then pulling through using zigzag movements. Cover every little lash for maximum effect. Keep building the mascara, letting the formula dry a little in between each layer – this will give natural, long and lush-looking lashes!
